Seller claims it's a "Hardware Service Unit". Looks like a 5161
expansion unit to me. I assume this is something else, since the
expansion unit is clearly marked as such on the IBM logo. (?)

I think you're right. It's an expansion unit and the seller just
doesn't know it.

It's most likely what you say. The pictures are blurry, but at any rate
the seller doesn't know what he's talking about.
