Hi,
I just completed the design of my PiDP-8, a kit replica of the venerable PDP-8/I, after
exhibiting the prototypes at the VCFeX.
Now, I'm gearing up to produce a batch of kits, and I'd like to collect
expressions of interest in the coming two weeks.In other words, see how much interest
there is, so I can determine parts volume and exact cost.
-> Kit will cost no more than $135, hopefully a bit less (depends on volume!)->
Shipping will be $30 worldwide, as registered parcel with tracking
-> Expected shipping date is mid-July, payment required only when kits are done->
Expression of interest means you're not committing to buy now, just indicate
you're very likely to buy in early July.

There's an unobtrusive (that is, a tiny tinyurl) "vrs" link at the
bottom of the page that will refer you to a mailto: url.
I think we are already in touch about a cracked delay line.

Did you find enough intact switches (I think it's 26) to populate a
switch register card? (The six momentaries also have a different
footprint.)

I have still have 3 left. They don't exactly fly off the shelves,
as the switches are indeed generally unobtainium.
I also have a pile of the lights boards. Those are easier, since
LEDs or bulbs that match the mechanicals are still available.
Are you hoping to build a full size version of Oscar's PiDP?

but least for now have something to mount them to thats not smashed got 23
of the switches / holders still more to dig up i think.plus those 8m ones i
found in the mix.
if u got advice on the back half of the switches and safe ways to get those
off /restor that be awsome as well
im guna take the metal part to a friend see what cost to get a bunch of
peaces lazer cut

I think the switch footprints are somewhat compatible between the
models, though I'm not sure the rocker mounts are.
if u got advice on the back half of the switches and
safe ways to get those
off /restor that be awsome as well
I don't know about "safe ways", but I did once open the tabs on
the back of one and replace the metal part of the slider with one
from another switch that lacked the rocker mounts. It
was a little
fussy bending everything back "just so".
im guna take the metal part to a friend see what cost

Which metal part is that? The bezel is cast, and the light guides are
drilled fiberboard. Maybe you mean the switch stabilizer bar(s)?
Or are you thinking of metal instead of plastic for the artwork?

But yea if ur interested in selling me the light panel and te switch panel
that would be amazing then i can slowly work on making something that can
be put into an original if i need to in a heart beat plus it does not
belong hiden away in a box like this stuf is right now
