The MPS (MicroProcessor Series) was an attempt by DEC to introduce an Intel 8008-based
system as a cost-effective replacement for minicomputers used in process control. The
system has its own 14-bit blinkenlights front panel for accessing the 8008.

I had the displeasure of using a different 8008-based system; this one
was a typesetting machine.
I hadn't thought about the 8008 in some time.
Now I have one more thing to cuss on this fine day :-)

thanks for digitising all this fascinating DEC MPS material, I'm glad
to see this coming to light.
I was surprised to see that there was a DEC authored FOCAL for the
8008 for this system, known as FOCAL/MPS. Squeezed into 12KB with
2.6KB left free for the user program.
Does anyone know if the various software tools for MPS have been found
yet? there was a cross-assembler, editor, debugger etc for MPS, and
now the FOCAL/MPS
