I would like to acknowledge the passing of Prof. Pat Hume. He was a pioneering programmer in Canada working on TRANSCODE(before most programming languages came along) and published/co-authored several early books on programming for high school and university students. He was also a popular host of the CBCs "The Nature of Things" a pioneering TV science program. Happy programming/computing. Murray--
