If the MMU is off, you can consider the PAR registers
as just plain ram.
Ooooh, very clever! Wouldn't work on a /40, of course, but on a /23 with

I actually picked this trick up from a maintenance manual for the 11/70,
where they have various small test programs you can enter, which tests
tricky parts. They all use the PAR addresses for the code.
