Interesting, Japanese calcs from that era were somewhat similar: flip-flops,
inverters and some gates in PMOS ICs, but most of the gates composed from
discrete diodes.
Were the Univac "IC like things" recognisable as not being ICs (thick film
modules or such) or were they in some standard IC package?
