Time to do some DEC collecting again...
Just wondering, does anyone have a MicroVAX II in BA23 pedestal chassis they'd be
willing to sell?

i think they could be rack mounted that way? but you're right, the edges
are sharp, and even when you're working inside them, they're a little
cramped and it's not too hard to cut yourself. i much prefer the ba123, aka
the "space heater" which gives you more room to work, and imo looks a lot
nicer.

I guess I could go for the eBay route and try to haggle, but I figured most of the
collectors on this list would be more likely to have all the plastics... :)

I'm in the same boat...except my BA23 accidentally ended up in the trash. I did same
all the parts to still run it, though...

they are

I shipped a pair of SMS-1000's, which are basically a 3rd party BA23 back around 2001.
It took two or three boxes intended for PC towers, either foam or styrofoam, and a lot of
strapping tape. I then hauled them down to the UPS Depot, and sent them out. As I
recall, it wasn't cheap, but it got the job done. It helped that the pair I shipped
were rack mount, not desk-side.

Nope, it's not based on input. Only when something is output --
including control characters that have no effect.

I have no idea. I got mine via London Hackspace. I have what I believe
is the guts of a BA-123 chassis - here's the description:
BA213 skunk box containing many cards
including a ?3500? and a II (don't power it up until you've configured
the system you want!)
