Expensive indeed. That $89 is the 100+ quantity price. The only distributor
listed is AVNET, and they have a 36 unit minimum at a USD$111 each price.
Better off to try the surplus/used market. I've bought old/obsolete parts
from
www.americanmicrosemi.com with good results. They
list the CDP1802CE
as in stock (20 avail) for only USD$7.25 each. They do have a
minimum order
fee of USD$39 so either buy more of them or other some other parts, too

For the user manual, you want RCA publication MPM-201. There's a very
