Consider this, it has a USB Slave connector, and a SD/MMC slot. The
bottom is a speaker. My assumption would be that it's housing
something like Chameleon-64. The case itself sort of looks like a
cardboard box. Perhaps the most interesting piece is the
power-supply, as it appears that it might be from an actual Commodore
system, but I couldn't hazard a guess as to what.

No clue. The IO ports on it are too recent for it to be some kind of
CDTV2 prototype unit. I know people were trying to "reboot" the
Commodore brand; remember the "retro" C64-alike system that was
supposed to be Intel Inside?

Given the setup, I'm thinking it's some kind of external media
player/box type thing? I really don't know, but no keyboard/video
ports, a "client"-side USB connector, and the SD chip slot kind of
give that away.
Maybe some kind of platform related to the "Gravel" media player that
was announced? It has to be fairly recent, due to the Dutch
involvement.

no inputs other than SD card,
no outputs at all, just a speaker.
definitely a media player.
Perhaps it also plays SID files?
otherwise it doesn't deserve the commodore name...
