Ah, but copyright law is specific - not nice. Add the simple "Copyright
© 2005, Evan Koblentz, All rights reserved." Paste that into the
page code at the bottom and you're covered. There is nothing nasty or
legalese about it. [Browsers convert the '©' to the copyright
symbol in whatever codepage is in use.]
Your article is referenced in blogs all over the world with links
pointing to your site. I'd put it back up with a note that it is a
preview of content to come in your book. Right now people following the
links to your site will be disappointed and think that you are some klutz.
The table shown in Dr Raja Maznah's wiki is used with full attribution
in the references at the bottom of the page. I would take this as fair
use and a compliment to your research.
My articles in DACS.doc (see
dacs.org) get republished all the time.
Several years back I tried to require other computer clubs to get my
permission, but it just doesn't happen. I try to be happy when they
spell my name right.
