Hi all!
I've seen several tape reel cases on eBay like the following:

Does anyone know, are those circa System/360, or are they from the 7090 era? I'm
suspecting they predate the 360, but it's hard to tell...
Even if this was 1969, I couldn't tell you--reel cases were common and,
as long as I had one for every reel of tape, I didn't pay much
attention. As a matter of fact, I handled an IBM-origin tape written in
1970 a couple of weeks ago, but I couldn't tell you what the case looked
like, other than it was clear plastic and IBM branded. The tape was
1600 PE density, 9 track. That, of course, is no certain indicator, as
I used 6250 FCI-rated tapes back in the day at 7 track, 556 BPI.
Tape racks of the time were wider-spaced to accommodate the cases than
the later "naked" auto-loading strip type.
