You're right -- there were some later variants.

Microsoft Fortran on the TRS-80
Microsoft/IBM FORTRAN 77? for the PC: slower on benchmarks than
interpreted BASIC!

Hmmm... FORTRAN-1: 1954 then, Yes. JEA was developed 3 years later.
FORTRAN-IV was my First Computer language, learned just before the
development of F77.
