Anybody have any interest in a TI Silent 700 terminal?
I just
rescued one from a local shop. Even has about a third of a roll
of thermal paper left, and appears to work fine (other than needing
the printhead cleaned). Has clamp-on cover with handle, too.
The Silent700 model I'm most interested in was the unit that had
the dual digital casette drives that were arranged above the unit.
I haven't seen one since the 70's; my Sol uses a keyboard from
one. Anyone know what it's model number was?

Don't remember the model number, but one went unsold on eBay several of
months ago. It didn't receive any bids. IIRC, the opening bid was $50
dollars. A lot of these units were sold to automobile dealerships via a
VAR. I don't remember the name of the VAR either.

VAR. I don't remember the name of the VAR either.
I tried listing one back in September '99 with a $50 reserve but it only
got to $22.00 after 4 bids. I did eventually sell it outside of eBay for
$50. I thought more people would be interested in it as it's a right cool
terminal. The model number is 733.

Through that auction, someone who used to own a GM dealership and used the
terminals gave me a bit of background on them. I can dig up that message
if anyone is interested.

Ah yes... I dealt with Reynolds & Reynolds and their Pyramid systems
while at Pyramid as well as ADP's DEC PDT 11/150 systems when I was
at DEC.
Amazing how many car dealers had DECwriters...

That's not the one that I saw on eBay, its RH cassette door was broken.
