COMBOARDs, too... we used to tell all of our customers who had
problems booting our boards (prior to initiating a connection to the
other end, our software rebooted our own board and loaded the protocol
engine image)... in the case of Qbus and Unibus boards, since the
fingers are gold, it has to be due to oxide build up on the backplane
pins.
Probably 75% of the people who called in with hardware problems were
able to get back on the air by reseating our card.
