My experience with DEC grey switches of the era is that a small piece of
plastic breaks off inside and the internal mobile conductor isn't held
firmly in the place it needs to be.
I don't know what's wrong with _this_ switch, but the failure mode I have
seen myself is mechanical, not oxidation.
