Subject: Re: Really old IBM gear
I see all sorts of stuff for collecting/trading
around here, but not a lot of
IBM equipment.
Anyone do much hobbying of IBM stuff, especially
S/360, S/370, and S/390?
Well, I struggled a 029 and 729 on and off a truck today...the 029 was the easy
one. Oh, and an 9922 (ten points if anyone knows what a 9922 is).
Anyone know where I could find some interesting
artifacts, like a 1052? Or
other similar-vintage stuff?
1052s are very rare.
Yes, if I knew of a 1052 I wouldn't tell you about it until it was safe here on our
loading dock. :-)
'Hobbying' for this equipment is challenging given the power, HVAC and floor
loading requirements. IMHO -- Ian
