I am told that you couldn't reliably move RK05f
packs between drives.
Heck, you were supposed to reformat the pack (according to one of the
manuals) if you took it out and put it back in again.
Bummer. I've always wondered what's on this thing. I may never know. :-(
Of course the other problem is head alignment. Since the pack in an RK05f
wasn't interchanged between drives, there was no need to have the heads
in the same position in all drives for a particular cylinder. AFAIK, you
didn't use an alignment pack when changing heads in an RK05f - you stuck
in the new heads at about the 'normal' position, formatted the pack, and
used it.
This will make it even more difficult to read what's on the disk.

'Course with some time and effort the RK05f probably can be aligned to match the
current pack by trying to read it and tweaking the alignment until
it gets read.
The main question is is it worth the effort?
