Firstly, I am
probably telling you what you already know, but the DZ11=0A=
and DL11 are totally different in software. If you are doing anything out=
=0A=
of the ordinary and have custom drivers you have
a lot of work ahead.=0A=
=0A=
Of course it requires a different device driver. =A0=0A=
Not 'of course'. Systime (I think, maybe ohters) made at least a
4-channel serial interface on a singe hex-height card that appears to eb
4 DL11s (A bit like a Unibus DLV11-J). But the DZ11 is certianly not that.
[Chocolate blocks]
I know them as Terminal Blocks.=A0 The intention here
is to connect=0A=
'Temrinal block' to me is a more general term. and would also include
barrier strips for example
a somewhat convfusing one is that if you look at telephone diagrams over
here, you keep finding things caleld 'BTnn' -- a common oen is BT52. Now,
BT is a telephone company here (British Telecom). but that has nothign to
do with BT;s on diagramss. It's common in the militraty services, etc to
put the noun first in abreviations and descriptions (capacitor, variable,
not varaible cpacitor, for example). So 'BT' on the diagram is actually
'Block, Terminal'.
I'm specifically looking for the DEC distribution
panel at this time, but=
=0A=
thanks for the suggestion though.=0A=
Sure ,ti's nice to have the original panel. But if you want to get the
thing going and ahve the Unibus board, I'd probably be incluned to make
up some kludge panel to link to the TTYs, If you ever get the real DEC
onem you can install it. Nothing has been modified.
