Well WD40 is _NOT_ a luricant, no matter what the
adverts say. It's a
water displacer. It's great for keepin rust of your stock of steel rods,
and for the garden gate hinge, but not for machinery.
Lets get it straight here: WD40 **is** an oil, but NO WAY apropriated to
lubrificate rotating joints and like. It is SO THIN that the only utility it
has is to create a very thin film of silicone oil to displace water (hence
the name) and protect against humidity/rust.
