I thought that's what I said. :)
Using 8-bit mode eliminates the need to deal with 16-bit transfers
and greatly simplifies interface circuitry.
Seriously, given that CF cards are of a size today to completely
overwhelm any CP/M system. Why bother with rotating mass storage
(except for microdrives, I guess)?
