I found a PDF
[...]. But every page just gives me "**** ERROR:
Unable to process JPXDecode data. Page will be missing data." and an
empty page.
It renders fine here.
Different rendering software, I daresay.
What are you trying to view it on?
Ghostscript 8.30.
xpdf 3.02 has code for JPXDecode (and JBIG2Decode, which gs 8.30 also
doesn't handle). I'm going to see if I can transplant that support
into Ghostscript - and also see if xpdf's pdfimages, which I haven't
played with before, can do anything useful with this. I tried it and
had the machine crash for an unrelated reason; I'm going to try it on
another machine, but I need to install stuff on the latter machine....
I took the
printer apart to some degree.
I'd take it apart and look for the obvious a
loose cable.
That's what I was thinking when I took it apart. I see on rereading
that I neglected to say that, though; I got sidetracked by the history
and forgot to say what I started out to say in that paragraph. :-(
I didn't find anything obviously loose...and most of the likely
candidates would disable some specific part of the printer's
mechanicals but not all of them, so I suspect it's something larger.
(There are a few that could take them all out, but based on an eyeball
glance at what talks to what, those are the ones I checked and appear
fine.)
