Ahhhh, that's very cool indeed, I thought gphoto was for USB
cameras only.

If you have a serial port, yes; they used to make
serially-attached
digital cameras.
Indeed, and many not-so-ancient ones have standard async serial
ports. The comm protocols, however.. :-|
