The pink bags actually aren't as conductive

this also knows that they smell really, really bad when they do this).
On the other hand, the mylar bags last practically forever.
They do not have to be as good as the mylar ones (unless you pay for the
really good pink ones, which are pretty expensive). Why waste the money
when the protection will be good enough for the job at hand?
Define "good enough"? I have 20+ year old HP padded bags here that used
carbon black conductive plastic on the inside and pink poly on the
outside, and the pink poly has deteriorated to the point where they are
now useless (it just crumbles if you touch it).
My point was, for the $2300.00 asking price, they could at least use a
higher quality ESD bag for the board.
I also don't personally consider a better ESD bag to be a waste of money
and I generally use mylar bags in preference to the pink bags if I have
the right size on hand. For classic computer use, second hand metalized
mylar bags are perfectly fine and are _dirt cheap_.
