Frankly I'll give the guy $800 for the unit just for the fun of building a
Heathkit.
I seem t ormemebr the H89 kit was somewhat disappointing, in that the 2
main PCBS (the CPU bosrd and the terminal logic board) came
ready-assembled :-(. You had to solder the keyboard to its PCB, make the
PSU (very simple linear thing) and video monitor PCB amd put it all in
the case.
Personally, if I buy a kit, I expect to get a kit, loose components and
bare PCBs!.
Mind you, if I ever got an unassmbled heathkit, or any other kit, I
would assemble it. The whole point of htis unit is to run programs. Not
to sit as pile of parts in a cardboard box.
