You could either use 18 of the 24, or implement some sort of ECC with the
"extra" 6 bits
Static ram is cheap...I only need 64KB of 9 bit memory and some EEPROM for
bootstraps.
ECC is best with Dram since in the general case you can refresh and scrub and
clean your memory.
Did any of the LISP machines do garbage collection with refresh?
