Anyway - why
would anyone *want* to run anything but OS/400 on an AS/400?
There's an IBM-written port to the newer (read RISC) AS/400 iron.
If you have an iSeries with extra capacity and need a Linux server, then
throwing Linux on an LPAR would be a good use of resources. You are using
resources that would otherwise be wasted, you don't need a separate box for
the Linux server, and you are running on very reliable hardware.
I wouldn't dedicate an iSeries box to Linux, though.
