I did better than that, took its cover off. Gave those platters a spin. Formatted just
fine too. Lets see how long it lasts.

Some weird blinking cursor on power on, then a
1701 error, and it hits the
floppy disk.
The motor of the hardcard is probably stopped by heads glued to the
platter, due to the time it doesn't run
Try banging the hardcard on the table, it usually releases the heads :)
