Why is AppleSoft BASIC called "AppleSoft"
BASIC?

Does this have something to do with the fact that Microsoft designed it?
I can't think offhand of any other Apple software product that fell
under the designation of "AppleSoft".
"AppleSoft"" was Apple's software division.
As in the Apple T-Shirt of fame bearing the dialog box:
