Could you please tell us what "historical research project"
you are involved with? Is it not for some New York patent
lawyers?
I suggest that anyone dealing with these people make sure
that they understand what is going on. Make sure that you
receive really worthwhile remuneration for your services
and hardware/documentation. This is not likely a "hobbyist"
project.
