Well, yes and no.
Steven Segal's non-sensical flick would be the resounding Yes. Fiction.
Seals have a "regular job", radioman, quartermaster, or... cook, in addition to
being a Seal. While very, very unlikely, it is possible a seal could transfer out of the
seal group and back to regular duty. And therefore be a cook on a ship that gets taken
over by aliens from the planet Hollywood.
And the statement isn't necessarily true, as both
rates could be part
of the ships self-defense force.
