Can we not restart this thread, please? The problem with what you're suggesting
is it means an auction need never end. Sniping (what happened to you) is a
part of ebay and I strongly doubt they'll change that, but if you send your
suggestion to support(a)ebay.com it will at least be in the right place.
Also there are other auction houses that do exactly what you suggest.
