There's always veneered and generated PALASM. It's still lurking around, but if
you can't find a copy, drop me a line.
For simple combinatorial logic, there's nothing that I can think of with an easier
learning curve.
I actually prefer PALASM, language-wise. I think Lattice's ISPLever
will compile PALASM for GALs just fine.
