I thought there were issues with the 68k in the
early
stages. Remember, IBM did build a puter based on it,
some time later albeit, that monstrous lab computer
thing.
I think the LS/9000s were not designed by IBM. The IBM Lab Systems
division was purchased Cisco-style.
