I asusme this is due to a different diameter central pin -- small pin in
large socket causes a bad connection, large pin in small socket wrecks th
socket.
I don't know about the pin diameter, but 50-ohm BNC plugs have a plastic
bush inside the outer ring and 75-ohm plugs don't. I don't think a
50-ohm plug will even fit a 75-ohm socket.
