Whats funny is that people I talk to in the UK find
a500's for next to
nothing and A1200's for slightly more then that while a good A1200 on ebay
goes for over $100 in the US.
ATM, there are six things on my Classiccmp Most
Wanted list:
1) Synertek SYM-1 or SY-VIM-1
2) MOS Technology KIM-1
3) Rockwell AIM-65
4) CUBE Eurobeeb (a BBC Micro on Eurocards - made by Control Universal)
5) Multitech MPF-1B or MPF-1P "Micro Professor". Why? Because it folds up
like a book - I know of no other computer like that.
6) Working papertape reader/punch with a supply of paper tape. Would prefer
something with a fairly small footprint, i.e. smaller than about 10x10in
and preferably less than 1ft tall.
Items not necessarily in that order of course. I can probably fix a SYM1 and
I would actually prefer a SYM - ISTR they didn't use mask programmed 6530
(6532?) chips, unlike the MOS KIM. The AIM65 is, IMHO, pretty neat. I like
the 6502 - what can you expect from someone who grew up using BBC Micros? :)
At least the 6502 is a bit more logical than, say, the x86 >shudder<.
Later.
