I am sure it isn't the case for this job but, in many bigger companies
the HR department often isn't really flexible on the degree part even if
the opening opening says they are. Unless you know someone to sort of
sidestep the HR people a four year college degree has pretty much become
the high school diploma of thirty years ago. It's not that the
engineers and it IT people wouldn't consider you if they ever got your
resume they just never get it.
A piece of paper shows that the holder has at least
some stamina and
backbone to actually finish something, in some official way.
Yeah, because being
employed in the industry for 20+ years certainly
won't show that. *roll eyes*
As I've explained elsewhere, the actual
requirement is
Bachelor's degree and at least six years related experience and/or
training; or ten years equivalent experience
20+ years in the industry would certainly meet the specified qualification.
