Old hardware was generally much less reliable than the
humblest
modern PeeCee.
That runs directly counter to my experience.
I run two "peecee" machines and at least a half-dozen Suns (old Suns,
back when Sun still used SBus, and one that goes back to the 68k era).
The two peecees have given me more hardware trouble than all the rest
of the machines put together.
