I disagree.  The best way to learn for someone interested is *doing*.
Misteaks will happen and are a part of the learning process.  I *frequently*
used to get in trouble when repairing equipment since I would go in "where
angels fear to tread."  HOWEVER, I learned something each time ... including
what to stay away from :)!
