    Does such a thing exist?  I know, I'm a masochist.

 I would wonder if the bus could handle the bandwidth needed.  
 I know for a fact that there once was made a USB interface for 
 non-Cardbus PCMCIA, because I have one.  I would assume this card would 
 Just Work(tm) in an ISA->PCMCIA adapter. 
Oh, that's true. I forgot about those (I had also seen one back in the
day -- I remember we had that discussion earlier).
