Yes, I wouldn't put it past the UK government, either that or they would make
it illegal to go out in it in case someone got hurt and then say that the
legislation was needed because of the popular demand for it.
Want some fun weather? Go to Iceland around late
December when
the south winds bring up warm air into subzero hard frozen weather and an
effect similar to a hurricane occurs, only with driving rains and high winds
on top of hard packed frozen snow and ice. Makes for an interesting couple
days.
