...and that's not counting the implementation languages that were
written specifically for a platform. CDC Cyber in the 70's went from
being almost exclusively assembly with FORTRAN sprinkled in to large
sections written in SYMPL (based loosely on Pascal). CDC STAR OS was
entirely IMPL (LRLTRAN with inline assembly capabilities and some
datatype extensions).
