I've not seen that, but Zaks "Programming the Z80" is an excellent book.
It's obviously a splendid reference, but it also makes a fairly good
introduction to assembler programming and contains good implementations
of common algorithms (like how to divide and multiply), fully commented
and ready to copy into your own code.
That's why you should start at a suitable level
of
*abstraction* if you will. Learn about the innards
from *a distance*.
Learn about them *when you need to* and not before.
