I don't think that the stock 5170 ever had a case lock. You might
have one with a gray trim plate on the back covering up all the
screws, but you just pry that gently off. That lock in the front of
the machine is for locking out the keyboard. Once you've got the
system open, just disconnect the leads that go to the motherboard and
you're in business.
If you have some aftermarket lock, drill the bugger out with a nice
tough cobalt drill bit.
