They'll build what people want them to build, and it's just unfortunate
that the vast majority of people want cheap shit with poor reliability and
a short lifespan.
not everything made in the USA is automatically good!
I don't think that many things are (and it's true of many places, not just
the USA, of course); it's hard to find new items with well-made parts
designed with longevity and repairability (is that a word?) in mind;
competition is still very cut-throat even at the top end, requiring
manufacturers to cut corners wherever they can.
