They did
indeed. In an era of model 33s the boxy 2000 with the equally
boxy detached keyboard was Really Very Cool. I seem to recall that one
had to be careful about power cycling them too quickly as they'd eat
HOTs if you did.
HOTs?
I asume 'Horizontal Output Transistor' (which we call the 'Line Output
Transistor' in the UK). A power transsitor that drives the horizontal
deflection coils and the flyback trasnformer.
