It's really unfortunate that the hard drive sleds become a serious
barrier in using a lot of older machines. The original owner just pulls
the drive, for security reasons, and never bothers to detach it from the
sled and put the sled back. Used HD sleds have become the 'key' item
and often cost significantly more than the whole rest of the machine in
the used market. I looked. reputable.com wants $85 for a bare O2
sled. That's a
little wedge of plastic with a tricky lever on it. Ouch. I paid
$20 for each for my O2's (missing the sled.)
Holy crap. I paid $25 for one about 2 months ago.
