The IMSAI 8080 in Wargames was a real system, with real hardware, and in
real life would work just as depicted in the movie (the software
functionality excepted). In fact, here it is:

It's what the David Lightman character did with it in the film that
requires one to stretch the imagination a bit (though not by too much).
