Agreed. The maximum voltage for a D connector (at
least a decent one) is
something like 500V. A lot higher than most people expect.
And then there are the high current pins found in some odd applications -
pins the size of pencil erasers.
There is another variation found on some Telco stuff that has a shield
over the face of the connector, with little holes for the pins to pass
thru.
Somewhere I have a chart that has all of the configurations (probably
according to the U.S. military) - there are a great deal of weird ones
that never find thier way into home computers.
