I know the 4000/500 requires VMS 5.5 or better. 7.2 is plenty snappy on
my 4000/vlc in 24 megs of RAM. It's nice. :) Since I remember reading
about the VLC *after* the university I worked at got the 4000/500 I'm going
to assume it wants 5.5 as well.
VMS 5.5 runs on the 4000 series. Its probably the lowest _practical_
version since most software is "5.x or later" on the market. I've got no
idea on the Oracle question.

Does anyone happen to know the minimum version of
VMS that will run on a
VAXstation 4000? Either a VLC, m60, or m90.
Alternativelly, does anyone know what the max VMS version Oracle 7.0.12 or
6.0.36.7 will support on OpenVMS?
