How much longer would it take to 'fix' all the
scripts that use rm,
and how much longer would it take to clean up after the damage caused
by the bugs introduced?
This is a good reason - much better than anyone's personal preference -
to make it an option that defaults off but can be added for interactive
use through a shell alias (the option I, admittedly rather frivolously,
called -warn-about-* upthread).
